Jim,
Thank you for your reponse.
Elie,
As insightful as your remarks usually are, they should have been moved
to the discussion list since they don't appear to address the item of
business at hand.
Everyone,
It appears that for the Administrative Committee to move forward in
general agreement, StateCom's intent needs to be re-confirmed and
AdCom needs to be instructed to proceed accordingly, whether or not
every AdCom member agrees with StateCom's intent.
Some of us have reason to believe that some members (perhaps a
majority) of the Administrative Committee have sent an unauthorized
letter to the presidential candidates telling the candidates to ignore
the letter they had received from the co-chairs. The co-chairs' letter
(after being submitted to adcom for review) had notified the
candidates of the results of the delegate calculation and had
encouraged the withdrawn candidates to release their delegates. Though
confirmation of this followup letter has been sought (see the AdCom
archives on the website), no signer has yet come forth to confirm or
deny.
The primary was February 5. It is now May 30. The nominating
convention is July 12.
Merelice, Co-Chair
