I think that this is probably a good time to contact the `new
recruits' since the next meeting will probably focus quite a bit on
organizing the Immigration Forum. I think we saw last night (with
Susan) that having the `uninitiated' coming to regular monthly
meetings where we're just discussing bureaucratic issues isn't really
going to wow them into coming back or getting involved. (This, I
believe, was Jai's reason for introducing the groups, no?) Anyway, if
we're contacting new people this month with the hope of getting them
to the next meeting, would it worthwhile to try to give the next
meeting a more dynamic and involving agenda? Not that we're trying to
trick anyone, but I'm remembering how exciting it was for me to get
involved with the Stein campaign last fall only to sort of back off
when it was all over and nothing `fun' was happening. If we can get
people immediately involved in organizing an event, it might be easier
to get them excited to do more work too.

I think it would also be helpful if we had a 1-2 page flyer
that we could hand to newcomers that would give them an idea of who we
are and why we do what we do. Again, I look to Susan (the woman who
left early). She was obviously interested, but not in the `hum drum'
stuff that we covered last night. Not yet, at least. :)

And just so I'm not such a pushy outsider, I'll volunteer to
help put together such a flyer.

	Thoughts?

Clayton
