The message below was sent on the Locals mailing list. Seems someone is
not happy with the inability of the state committee to finish up business.
I don't know the facts here, I'm just relaying this message. Does anyone
know what happened at the state committee meeting and what the proposals
they didn't act on are about? Do we want to take a stand on this (I think
we should be involved), and if so, what should it be?

Subject: [Locals] State com has unfinished business

Hi everyone,
I am a state committee delegate from Worcester County. At its Sept 13
meeting on Cape Cod, the state com (for various reasons) failed to take
action on 18 1/2 proposals before it (out of a possible 20). Thus, in
my opinion they need to finish their business, which is in a sense OUR
business.

According to GRP by laws, locals can call a special meeting of the
state committee through a vote in which 1/3 of recognized locals vote to
call the special state com meeting.

IF the state com doesn't take action on these proposals in a timely
manner, say a matter of weeks, Are there locals out there who are
interested in calling a special meeting of the state com, so they are required
to finish their (OUR) business?

What's the thought out there?

I have called for state com delegates to join me in calling for special
meeting to finish our business, if they don't, I think the grassroots
needs to make its voice heard on this one.
PEACE
Tony Lorenzen

Mr. Goldman: "Never, ever be the same. There's a hole missing."
