This Sunday (4/29) afternoon there is going to be a pro-war rally
against Sudan on Boston Common at 1. Anti-war activists should
please come out to protest in opposition to this hateful pro-war
rally. Bring anti-war signs and Palestinian flags.
suggested slogans:
Stop Attacking Sudan - Stop the Racist Lies Against Muslims Arabs &
Africans
Stop US Sponsored War Against Sudan - No More Blood for Oil or for
"Israel"
US & UN Get Out of Sudan & Somalia
Stop the Genocide of the Palestinians
From the River to the Sea Palestine Will Be Free
Lies to Justify War: 2003 "WMDs" in Iraq, 2007 "genocide" in Darfur
Sudan
Stop the US War Threats Against Sudan & Iran
Stop the US Genocidal Occupations In Iraq & Afghanistan
Zionists & US Get Out of Africa and the Middle East
The rally is being organized by the JCRC (Jewish Community Relations
Council) of Greater Boston. JCRC Boston is a racist anti-Muslim hate
group, the most active racist hate group in Massachusetts. JCRC-
Boston's funding wing is the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP)
which has billionaire investors on its boards and which holds
thousand dollar per plate fundraising dinners. JCRC-Boston's budget
is at least $1.5 million per year. There is probably additional
funding for their "Save Darfur" MA front group.
In addition to their anti-Sudan campaign, JCRC-Boston also
propagandizes in favor of "Israel", and against Palestinians,
Lebanese, Iranians, etc. JCRC-Boston holds numerous events where
they accuse Palestinians and other Arabs & Muslims of being
terrorists and of attacking "Israel". They hold "celebrate Israel"
events. They held a "moving to Israel" seminar last month where they
taught Jews how to move to Palestine to be colonial settlers there.
They held rallies last summer in support of the Zionist attack
against Lebanon. JCRC-Boston has a whole anti-Iran section of their
website. JCRC-Boston put out a call earlier this year for all rabbis
to preach a Purim sermon against Iran and President Ahmadinejad.
JCRC-Boston is more hawkish and extreme than even JCRC groups in
other parts of the "USA". The JCRC-Boston leadership went to a
national conference of JCRC groups in Washington DC earlier this year
and tried unsuccessfully to get the national organization to start
organizing a national anti-Iran campaign. Many elements within JCRC-
Boston have also been active in the slander campaign against the
Islamic Society of Boston around their construction of a Mosque in
Roxbury. It would take pages and pages to detail all the racist,
warmongering, zionist, and anti-Muslim activity that JCRC-Boston has
been involved in. They are simply an extremely vicious, active and
well-funded racist hate group. JCRC-Boston is responsible for most
of the pro-war anti-Sudan organizing in Massachusetts. The campaign
to divest from Sudan may actually have originated in Boston as a
indirect strategy for zionists opposed to attempts to divest from
"Israel" to suggest divesting against a Muslim pro-Palestinian nation
instead.
The speakers at the rally, including warmongering US congressmen, are
going to be spewing extremely inflammatory lies against Sudan and
China. They will be falsely accusing the Sudanese government and
marginalized nomads in Darfur of "genocide". The speakers will be
calling for an increased US-sponsored AU or UN military occupation or
invasion force in Darfur, for increased economic sanctions against
Sudan and a "no-fly zone" in Darfur similar to the sanctions and no-
fly zone imposed on Iraq in the 90s. The US has already had a trade
and financial boycott against Sudan for 10 years that, in conjunction
with the US military strike agaist Sudan's pharmaceutical plant and
support for Sudanese rebel groups in civil wars against the
government, have destabilized and impoverished Sudan. in reality
almost everyone in Darfur is Black, Muslim, Arabic-speaking and
African. It is not genocide. There has been a civil war going on in
Darfur among many different political factions, some armed by the US
(through Chad or Eritrea or the SPLA). The UN has said that it is
not genocide and has criticized all sides in the war. The people of
Darfur and Sudan want peace. But the US is a barrier to peace. In
the 90s speaking of the north-south civil war in Sudan, Jimmy Carter
said ""the United States government has a policy of trying to
overthrow the government in Sudan. So whenever there’s a peace
initiative, unfortunately our government puts up whatever obstruction
it can." The US is a barrier to peace in Darfur today. The
notorious John Negroponte was in Sudan "negotiating" last week. The
US-sponsored occupation or invasion of Darfur has already begun. The
US military is "advising" the African Union force. The AU force
contains soldiers from countries that have fought other proxy wars
for the US and for oil companies, such as Rwandan troops who have
invaded Congo and Nigerian troops who have fought against Nigerians
on behalf of Western oil companies. There are US mercenaries from
"private military contractors" Dyncorp and PAE working with the AU
force in Darfur. The US government is funding the AU force with tens
of millions of dollars.
The rally is also going to be directed against China. Part of the US
imperialist goals in Sudan and the middle east are to deprive China
of oil or to make sure that oil transactions are all controlled by US
oil companies and use US dollars. The pro-war protesters are going
to march to the Fidelity office to call for divestment from Fidelity
because it holds Chinese oil company stock. (Or perhaps one of the
CJP billionaire investors - maybe Mortimer Zuckerman or Seth Klarman
or Myra Kraft - is trying to drive Fidelity stock down in preparation
for a takeover). Warmongering Congressman Jim McGovern is probably
going to be one of the speakers tomorrow. McGovern has recently
called for a boycott of the 2008 Olympics in China because China buys
oil from Sudan. McGovern has quoted George Bush and Colin Powell for
his "information" about Sudan. McGovern has also recently
disappointed a lot of anti-war activists, including Cindy Sheehan, by
voting for the supplemental spending bill to continue the US
occupation of Iraq.
Please come out tomorrow in opposition to this pro-war rally.
Also if you are not too tired please plan to stay in town to protest
against the AIPAC annual dinner at the Westin Hotel in Copley Square
in the evening.
