FRIDAY FREE FILM SCHEDULE

Films are Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. at the Media
Education Foundation, 60 Masonic Street in Northampton.
The venue is accessible and has air conditioning. The
events are free. Discussion follows.

Tonight, June 17: Orwell Rolls in his Grave

Director Robert Kane Pappas' ORWELL ROLLS IN HIS GRAVE
argues that American news media have become, like
George Orwell's "Ministry of Truth", a surreal source
of information that routinely labels things the
opposite of what they are, forgets and distorts
stories, and fabricates diversity of opinion between
essentially identical positions. The film argues by
example, tracing several recent news stories through a
process of spin and suppression.

Friday, June 24: Hijacking Catastrophe

The documentary "Hijacking Catastrophe: 9/11, Fear &
the Selling of American Empire" was produced by
Northampton's own Media Education Foundation, the
organization that makes space available for this film
series. As part of the series, we are pleased to
present an updated version of "Hijacking Catastrophe".
With us will be special guest, MEF Executive Director
Sut Jhally, to present the film and answer questions.
