Dear Women and Men,

 

In the tradition of Julia Ward Howe we seek to incite a political revolution on mother's day eve, and ask you to join us. We are launching a new political party called the Matriots. As Patriots, we love our country, as Matriots we love the world; as the Patriot Act limits our civil rights, Matriots act to create a world where all people thrive.

 

We Matriots are mothers, grandmothers, PhDs, therapists, teachers and more who believe in the wisdom of women. We share a passionate love for our children and a passionate distaste for the current regime. We are asking women around the world, "What do you want for your children?" From this inquiry we are building a platform for a new politics of mothering which creates the conditions for all six billion of us on the planet to thrive in peace and prosperity.

 

We firmly believe that this is achievable. Globally, we have the technology and the wealth of resources, what is missing is imagination and political will. It is time to foment a force that will provide that will. 

 

We need your leadership to help us launch our first event on May 7, Mother's Day Eve in Northampton, MA on the outskirts of Smith College. Details can be found in the attached flyer.
