 Judiciary Committee Hearing

*This Tuesday (April 11th) at 10am there will be a Judiciary
Committee<http://www.mass.gov/legis/comm/j19.htm>hearing in Room A-1
of the State House in Boston.
*

This is a formal public hearing which marks the next step for the
anti-family, anti-marriage, and anti-equality amendment which would end
same-sex marriage in Massachusetts.

KnowThyNeighbor.org will be there and expects to see you there too. Anyone
(that means you) that wants to speak directly to their legislators can do so
that day so don't miss the opportunity!

*Hearing Format*

*10 AM* - Hearing starts but show up way earlier if you want to sign up to
speak and guarantee a good spot inside the hearing room.

*Senators and Representatives* are given first priority and will come forth
and state their support or non-support of the discriminatory amendment.

Selected *Panels* comprised mainly of lobby groups and organizations will
speak next.

Then *the public* will speak. *You* will be called by name on a first-come,
first-served basis. You will be given approximatley 2 minutes to speak and
could possibly be asked a question or two by the Judiciary Committee
members.

*What YOU Can Do (in order of importance)*

1) Form your own panel (ie a group of 2-4 people to speak together). Contact
State House Committee Staff at (617) 722-2396 to be slated. Please contact
KnowThyNeighbor and let us know if you plan to do this.

2) Show up early and sign up to speak for yourself.

3) Attend the hearing and show your support for equality.

4) Contact your
legislators<http://www.wheredoivotema.com/bal/myelectioninfo.php>and
encourage them to stand up against this discriminatory amendment.

We look forward to seeing you at the State House on Tuesday. Everything you
do not only helps others understand the true meaning of Equal Rights for
All, but the more practice that you get in speaking out for what is right,
the better you will become at it. KnowThyNeighbor encourages personal
activism and advocacy whenever possible and Tuesday is a great opportunity
for everyone.

*The opposition <http://www.voteonmarriage.org/leghearing.shtml>plans to be
there in great numbers so it is critical that you be there too! *

See you there,

Tom Lang & Aaron Toleos
