Dear Everyone,

As many of you know I have spent a lot of my time focused on the Medicaid
Community Attendant Services and Supports Act (MiCASSA), the national
version of the state-funded Money Follows the Person Bills, which would
allow people with disabilities to live anywhere in the country that they
wanted, as opposed to having to move to where services were available, as I
had to do, or live in an institution. The bill numbers are house bill 910
and Senate bill 401.

Kennedy and Kerry are already on board as senators. No Massachusetts
Representatives are featured! My plan is to go visit Mr. John Olver’s, my
Rep’s local office in Holyoke at 57 Suffolk Street Suite 310 Holyoke, MA
01040. I’m thinking of going to see him on next Thursday afternoon (the
20th); I’m thinking of meeting around 2:30 with a group of people interested
in this issue so we can go see Olver together. Anyone who needs a ride or
can carpool, should e-mail martina_robinson at hotmail.com or call my cell
phone at (413) 210-6301and I’ll try to hook you up.

To learn more about MiCASSA, please visit http://www.adapt.org and call me
with any questions. If Olver is not your Rep and you live somewhere else on
Massachusetts, please find your own Rep and bother him or her about
co-sponsoring.

Please forward this!

Thanks and Solidarity,
Martina D. Robinson
