Subject: Saint Kermit This Week - New Health Care Law, and Swing the Vote
To: Owen Broadhurst <owen.broadhurst at gmail.com>
Happy Patriot's (and Marathon) Day Owen
In this week's episode <http://www.saintkermit.com/mp3s/SK_06_09.mp3>, our
doctors are in the house, as Michael Blackman is joined by Dr. Jill Stein to
discuss the recently-enacted Massachusetts health care law (Jim also
participates as a willing straight man). The new law has been touted
nationally as an approach that bring us closer to universal health care;
Michael and Jill have some other thoughts.
The Saint Kermit interview is with Rudy Perkins, a long-time social justice
and political activist whose primary activity in the past three years has
been with Swing the Vote <http://www.swingthevote.us/>. Rudy shares with us
some of the history of Swing the Vote as an independent progressive effort
to defeat George Bush in 2004 in New Hampshire, along with some of the
organization's future plans. Rudy is a terrific and very thoughful person;
we think you will find the interview enlightening.
Our musical selection is "Subway Trane" by Actual Proof (more talented
members of Tony's family).
Finally, our sports crew discusses Manny Ramirez's early season slump,
asking the pointed question: is he doggin' it? Listen in and find out.

Why am I getting this e-mail? You have received this e-mail because we have
either sent you a Saint Kermit e-mail in the past, or we have good reason
otherwise to think you will enjoy the program. If you do not want to
receive any more e-mails from us, just tell us and we will remove you
promptly.
------------------------------
Next week, we will feature our "virtual debate" among Sam Kelley, Tim Murray
and Andrea Silbert, Democratic candidates for Lieutenant Governor of
Massachusetts. Given the Commonwealth's track record of having Lieutenant
Governor's running for, and/or becoming, Governor, this is a good chance to
hear directly from these potentially notable candidates.
