Dear Friends,
There are now more than 100 people signed up for the 7th
Annual Conference on "Grassroots Use of Technology" on
Saturday, June 17th at UMASS Boston, hosted by Organizers'
Collaborative and the CTC Vista Project.
This event addresses how to overcome the challenges of
using email, databases and the Internet in your organization.
It is well suited to any kind of nonprofit or community
organization. Of the 16 workshops at the conference, 8
are designed for folks without prior tech expertise.
Registration is only $60/ $30 student or limited income! (If
the cost is an issue for you, please email us.)
Over 200 people attended last year, and we expect 225 this
year. SPACES MUST BE RESERVED for attendance. We
recommend that you register online on the Conference website at:

2006 Theme: Making Technology Relevant to Nonprofit and Social Change Groups

After the conference, OC is holding a dinner to launch the ¡§50/50¡¨
program. This program, part of the Organizational Divide Initiative, will
donate 50 computers to 50 local nonprofit groups in the fall of 2006.
The dinner will also celebrate the achievements of nonprofits that are using
technology to a make a difference in the lives of those they serve!

Public Transportation
„h Subway: Take the Red Line to JFK/UMass Station. From there the #1 shuttle
bus will take you directly to the Campus Center. The #2 shuttle bus will
also stop at the Administration Building, but be sure to get off at the
Campus Center. Busses are free and run approximately every 20 minutes. From
the Campus Center, go to the second floor and Wheatley Hall is the next
building over. The Snowden Auditorium is on the first floor.
By car from the north
Take Interstate 93 South through Boston to exit 15 (JFK Library/South
Boston/Dorchester) and turn left under the highway. Then follow the
University of Massachusetts signs along Columbia Road and Morrissey
Boulevard to the campus.
By car from the south
Take Interstate 93 North to exit 14 (JFK Library/Morrissey Boulevard) and
follow Morrissey Boulevard north to the campus.
