[WestMALocals] A Primary Day Prescence in Agawam

What are YOU doing on Primary Day?

You surely won't be selecting Tweedledum over Tweedledee within a Democratic
or Republican primary booth!

==================================

Why not help me remind the people of Agawam in the Third Hampden District
that other options exist?

The Town of Agawam hosts 80% of all registered voters in the Third Hampden
District. All candidates are from Agawam.

John Walsh suggested at the prior State Committee meeting that I should put
something like this together. It's a good idea.

Voting in Agawam will be heaviest after 5 PM, and the two polling places on
Main St. in Agawam typically have best turnout.

These two polling places are Benjamin Phelps School, 689 Main St., and
Agawam Middle School, 68 Main St.

I propose folks help me compose a massive demonstration up and down the
length of Main St. in Agawam. It's shape and composition may vary depending
on how many volunteers we can muster - but I'm thinking it would ideally
turn out one of two ways:

1) We have ample enough volunteers to literally line that length of Main St.
with standing volunteers all at better than arm's length from each other,
all holding signs or banners (home-made is more than fine!) , armed with
fliers about the slate and having a good time; or

2) We have fewer volunteers than would be most ideal, and instead actually
march up and down the length of Main St.!

I'm under no delusions that I can pull off Option #1, but maybe the
Green-Rainbow Party will surprise me! The distance between the Benjamin J.
Phelps Elementary School and Town of Agawam Middle School is approximately
one and a half miles.

=============================

Given how my campaign has only $277 in its coffers, I've yet to make most
reasonable expenditures expected of a campaign. I have therefore yet to file
orders for lawn signs with a Green-Rainbow Party logo on them, and so must
ask folks to compose their very own signs for this Main St. demonstration.
I'm imagining sign-making parties could be held at my place within the next
few days, and folks interested could certainly make signs on their own
during their own free time at any time and place folks may please. I could
also modify several of my prior 2003 City Council campaign signs by slicing
the bottom inch and half from them, and shall do so.

The toughest task for folks attending shall indubitably be trying to find
parking near these Main St. locations. Places nearby where lots available
for parking are likely to be found without entirely too much trouble are
listed below. Some may fill up fast, since the Six Flags amusement park and
Eastern States Exposition are both likely to land folks in Main St., Agawam
looking for parking.

1) The lip of Monroe St., just off Main St., has a handful of parking spots
across the shopping center that hosts Giovanni's and Utopia.

2) Spots may be found in the Congregational Church parking lot between
Monroe St. and Elbert Rd. off Main St. in Agawam.

3) There may be parking in lots in front of, directly behind, and abutting
that shopping center that hosts Giovanni's and Utopia.

4) There will be parking available for some very few cars in my very own
driveway, 96 Elbert Rd., walking distance from Phelps.

5) Additional parking may be found behind, and directly next to, the Agawam
Middle School further down Main St. in Agawam.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Main St. is Route 159 in Agawam, and off Route 57. For Phelps, take the Six
Flags exit. For the Middle School, take the first signed exit.

Main St. begins in Agawam where Route 147 turns into Route 159, intersecting
Route 75, near yet another shopping center.

Map for 68 Main St, the Town of Agawam Middle School:

Best exit to Route 57 off I-91 would be exit 3.

Folks who believe they can attend should RSVP so the Broadhurst Committee
can better plan operation logistics:
