GRP Adcom Minutes 2020-02-13

Decisions Made:

  • Unanimous: $1200 toward postcard mailings, divided by eight regions fairly = $150/region
  • Adcom endorses Work & Family Mobility Act by consensus.
    • Adcom vote unanimously to endorse the Safe Communities Act.

 

Attendance: John Blumenstiel, Brian Cady, Barbara Clancy, Lois Gagnon and Maha Gray.

  • John Blumenstiel is the new GBC representative to Adcom, replacing Elie Yarden.
  • Barbara Clancy is ARVC Alternate representative to Adcom.

 

Quorum: With 5 voting members in attendance, quorum is reached!

 

Assign Meeting Roles: Lois facilitator, Brian minutes, John time.

 

Approve minutes from previous Adcom Meeting: Didn’t have quorum at 1/2x/2020 meeting.

 

Approve agenda: BC adds Postcards. Agenda approved by consensus as amended.

 

  1. Treasury Report: BC: Expense of $700 for annual NB charge. Raised $790 for state level postcard mailing. Thank you cards?

 

  1. Working Committee Reports
  • MDVC: Outreach letter to campus groups, video script almost complete, and when will GRP change its name?
  • LegCom: The legislative committee meets by phone, first Monday of the month. We welcome new members. We are investigating interest in either having a bunch of GRP members take the two day legislative training at the State House in Spring 2021, or having our own shorter workshop on the MA legislature and how it works.

  1. Update on Regional Convention Planning
  • Assabet – Library? 3rd Thursday Mar 19th 6:45
  • GBC: hosts Boston 2 regions & MetroSouth. Mar 22nd 2-5pm
  • So. Coast Mar 14th 10-2
  • PVC: Mar 8th 6:30pm - email blast going out.

 

  1. Email Blast: Not everyone had read Charlene’s email re email blast. Tabled for next meeting.

 

  1. State Convention Committee: Maha, Matt A: workers welcome for Planning and Day of.

 

  1. Legcom:
  • Work and Family Mobility Act: Out of committee rec’d to pass.
    • Adcom endorses Work & Family Mobility Act by consensus.
  • Safe Communities Act - extended in committee
    • ends state & local partnership with ICE
    • Adcom vote unanimously to endorse the Safe Communities Act.
