MA Green Party Endorses Andrea James for Governor
The Green-Rainbow Party is proud to endorse Andrea James for Governor of Massachusetts in the 2026 election.
Andrea James is a Roxbury-born community organizer, criminal justice advocate, and former attorney whose family has called Massachusetts home for seven generations. For more than a decade, she has led the fight to end the mass incarceration of women and girls, founding Families for Justice as Healing and the National Council for Incarcerated and Formerly Incarcerated Women and Girls.
Although Andrea is running as an Independent and is not a Green Party candidate, her values and platform match our own. Her platform calls for Medicare for All with no copays or deductibles, public housing for all, a $25 minimum wage, free public higher education and childcare, fare-free public transit, caps on utility costs and a path to publicly-owned utilities, and an end to the criminalization of poverty.
On climate, Andrea James's platform goes further than anything the corporate duopoly has been willing to offer. She has pledged to declare a climate emergency and launch a whole-of-government mobilization toward 100% clean energy on the fastest responsible timeline. Critically, she understands that a just transition is not only about energy systems. It means creating a statewide Climate Jobs Corps to put people to work retrofitting homes, restoring ecosystems, and strengthening public infrastructure.
The Andrea James campaign is our best opportunity to expand the movement to reject the corporate parties, advance the cause of People, Planet, and Peace, and to elect a governor who will fight for working people. We call on our members and allies to get involved now: go to https://www.ajforma.com/ and donate, sign up to volunteer, and spread the word about this vital people-led campaign.
