MA Green Party Demands End of Attacks on Iran
The Massachusetts Green-Rainbow Party condemns the murderous, criminal US-Israeli attack on Iran.
We remind the people of Massachusetts, especially those with whom we will be marching in opposition to these heinous acts: you cannot claim to oppose war with your voice while you continue to support it with your vote. A vote for any Democrat is a vote to continue the disastrous foreign policy consensus of the ruling duopoly that has led us here.
Senators Elizabeth Warren and Ed Markey both voted to confirm the nomination of Trump's Secretary of State, Marco Rubio—the primary executor of his foreign policy and the architect of the escalated blockade and starvation of Cuba.
Senator Warren clapped during Trump's State of the Union address as he telegraphed his belligerence toward Iran.
Governor Maura Healey has given $47 million to expand the footprint of the military-industrial complex in our state. She has also developed a partnership between Massachusetts and Sheba ARC, an Israeli AI firm with ties to the IDF.
Just yesterday, Representative Jake Auchincloss called for "American and allied air supremacy in the Middle East."
Today, as condemnations of this attack from elected Democrats roll into press offices and across social media feeds, we note the focus of their objection: the procedural crime of starting a war without Congressional approval, rather than the far greater crime of extinguishing human life.
All members of the Massachusetts House delegation voted for loyal AIPAC servant Hakeem Jeffries to lead the Democrats in the House. Massachusetts Representative Katherine Clark serves as his Minority Whip. If they truly wanted a vote to prevent this crime, it would have happened. Their inaction and delay as US military assets amassed in the Persian Gulf tell us everything we need to know about the legitimacy of their "concern."
Both Senators Markey and Warren voted for Chuck Schumer to lead the Democratic Party in the Senate. Chuck Schumer himself has said his "job is to keep the left pro-Israel." Throughout his political career, he has sought to increase US aggression toward Iran and close off paths to negotiation and peace. Today is the greatest day in Chuck Schumer's life because it is the worst day in the lives of more than 50 Iranian families whose daughters were murdered at school by US and Israeli bombs.
We demand an immediate end to these attacks and justice for all victims of US-Israeli crimes.
