MA Green Party Condemns US Attack on Venezuela and Abduction of President Maduro

The Massachusetts Green-Rainbow Party condemns the United States' unprovoked attack on Venezuela and its abduction of President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Cilia Flores. This criminal escalation of US imperialism follows months of open murder of civilians and piracy in the Caribbean, decades of sanctions and regime change operations against Venezuela supported by both major parties, and centuries of violent US domination and interference in Latin America.
We condemn both major parties in the United States for allowing the Trump administration's criminality to reach this horrific point. Parties that represent weapons manufacturers will never truly be against war. Parties that represent the fossil fuel industry will never be able to mount the strong opposition that the mere idea of a war for oil should summon. We call on the people of Massachusetts to reject the parties of death and fossil fuel extraction. It is our responsibility to organize a real opposition to the war machine and its loyal henchmen. We must elect representatives who seek peace instead of war, cooperation instead of domination, and eco-socialism instead of capitalism.
