Fair Taxes and Budgets

  • Reform tax policies that allow the super-rich to pay a lower percent of their income than poor and middle-class people pay.  Create progressive income tax brackets that follow the income curve, to counter the tremendous inequality and capture the concentration of income flowing to the top .1 percent.
  • End corporate welfare, stop government favoritism in picking winners and losers, and let businesses compete on a fair playing field.

  • Reduce dependence on regressive forms of revenue production such as the sales tax, gambling casinos, the state lottery, and fees for public services that should be covered by ordinary taxes.
